Places are restricted to TWO people per pharmacy at the moment as we expect a high uptake. Each person has to be individually registered.

Public Health, the LPC and Healthwatch Hackney have been working in partnership to implement Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLP) in City and Hackney. Since the launch of the local scheme, a national pilot for Healthy Living Pharmacy Level 1 has been developed, underpinned by a new profession-led self-assessment process.

A decision has been made locally that pharmacies wishing to become HLP Level 1 accredited should now apply via the profession-led self-assessment process. More information, including how to apply can be found at https://www.rsph.org.uk/our-services/registration-healthy-living-pharmacies-level1.html. Public Health, the LPC and Healthwatch Hackney will continue to provide support to pharmacies wishing to become accredited and will also develop a locally run Level 2 accreditation, focussing delivery of commissioned services.

We understand that some pharmacies who may have started putting together their application based on the local quality criteria may prefer to apply via the local scheme. If you would like to do this, please submit your application to public.health@hackney.gov.uk by 28th April 2017. After this date, please apply via the self-assessment. Both pharmacies accredited locally and via the self-assessment are eligible for quality payments. Pharmacies must be HLP accredited by November 24th 2017 at the latest in order to receive the associated quality payment.

We will be holding a meeting on Wednesday 26th April 6:30pm-9:30pm at the Tomlinson Centre to provide support on how to meet the criteria for the HLP Level 1 self-assessment and to answer any questions on the approach to HLP in City and Hackney moving forward.

If you have any questions in the meantime please contact Jessica.veltman@hackney.gov.uk or candhlpc@gmail.com for more information.

Best wishes,

Jessica
